Agnes V. Johns, 86, Sparta, died Tuesday, May 29, 1990 in her home, after an illness of a few months, She was born to Joe and Cora Anderson Monger Dec. 3, 1903 in St. Louis.

She lived most of her life in the Sparta area and was active in community functions. She was a member of the Sparta Church of Christ from an early age. She was a loving mother and grandmother and caring to many friends.

She is survived by two sons; I.J. Johns, and his wife, Susie, Sparta, and Herschel Jones, and his wife, Martha Anne, Ozark; three sisters, Lucille Collins, Ozark, Josephine Anderson, Castro Valley, Calif., and Katy May, Mesa, Ariz.; two brothers, Jack Monger, Nixa, and Jay Monger, Ava; four granddaughters, Wanda Johns, Springfield, Brenda Lande, Silver Springs, Md., Cathryn Bumgarner, Sparta, and Cindy Adamson, Hartville; two grandsons, Danny Johns, Ridgedale, and Rick Johns, Sparta; nine great-granddaughters: seven great-grandsons; and a great-great-grandson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph, in 1982; a son, Manford, in 1944; and a granddaughter, Carolyn Daughterty, in 1982.

Services were held Friday in Adams Funeral Home, Ozark, with Dwayne Bray and David Dugan officiating. Burial was in Sparta Cemetery.
