Jean Ann Stafford, age 77 of Elwood, died Sunday, August 28, 2011 at I.U. Health – Ball Memorial Hospital Campus in Muncie following a brief illness. She was born March 6, 1934 in Anderson, Indiana, the daughter of Harry and Blanche (Maddox) Barnes. She was the Head Custodian for the Lompoc, California Public Schools for over 15 years, and retired in 1996. She was a 1952 graduate of Anderson High School. She lived in Lompoc, California for many years and later lived in Mississippi before returning to Elwood. She enjoyed crocheting, reading mystery novels, connecting with friends on Facebook, and playing Myjong computer games. She also loved spending time with family and watching the "Price is Right". She formerly attended the Central Wesleyan Church in Elwood and was a member of the Order of Eastern Star.

She is survived by 4 Children – Kathy Jean and husband Robert Rebuck of Browns Point, WA, David T. Stafford of Browns Point, WA, Ruth Ellen and husband Nathan Bonner of Meridian, MS, and Susan Nadene and husband Wayne Gibson of Indianapolis; 3 Grandchildren – Jennifer and husband Barry Dixon, Sara and husband Christopher Vorhees, and Emily Tappan; 6 Great-Grandchildren; and a Great-Great Grandchild. Several Nieces and Nephews also survive.

She was preceded in death by her Parents; Husband whom she married on August 2, 1952 – David T. Stafford; 2 Sisters – Donna Odell and Delores Rhinehart; and Granddaughter – Charlotte (Pavan) Sikora.

Private funeral services and burial will be held at the Elwood City Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Arrangements have been entrusted to Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Vincent Mercy Hospital Foundation – 1331 South A Street, Elwood, IN 46036.
