Mrs. John H. Arp of Massena Dies Suddenly

Mrs. Anna Marie Arp, 55, wife of John Arp, died suddenly at her farm home near Massena Thursday evening as the result of a cerebral hemorrhage. Mrs. Arp was in her usual health and was assisting her husband with chores when she suffered the attack. Medical aid was summoned, but she died without regaining consciousness.

Mrs. Arp was born in Audubon county August 27, 1898, the daughter of Steffen and Caroline Steffens. She grew to womanhood on a farm north of Atlantic and was married to John H. Arp at Omaha January 5, 1921. They lived on a farm near Atlantic three years and then moved to the Cumberland vicinity and later to a farm near Massena.

Surviving beside her husband are a son, Howard, at home; six sisters, Mrs. George Schluter, Minnie Steffens, Mrs. Paul Both, Mrs. Raymond Hart, and Mrs. Harry Woolsey of Atlantic and Mrs. Clark Jensen of Council Bluffs and three brothers, William Steffens of Long Beach, California, Harry Steffens of Atlantic, and Ernest Steffens of Wiota.

Funeral services will be held at the Roland funeral home Sunday afternoon at 1:30, the Rev. Rodney W. Riese of the Franklin township Lutheran church officiating. The remains were brought to the Roland home today from the Hodges funeral home in Cumberland. Interment will be in the Atlantic cemetery.
