Died at the residence of his daughter, Mrs. Mary F. Wells, 229 H Street Northeast. He came to the District from Dumfrees, Virginia as a boy and became a carpenter and builder whose office was at 10th and I Streets Northwest. His wife died several years ago. He was the father of three sons and three daughters. He was survived by two brothers who are both 75 years old: Commodore Perry Brown, a compositor in the Government Printing Office and John Brown, a carpenter of 2nd and N Streets.
