She was born on Oct. 4, 1918, in Vulcan, the daughter of the late John and Catherine (Masty) Baranski.
Pauline graduated as the valedictorian from Vulcan High School in 1936. Shortly thereafter, she moved to Chicago where she worked for 10 years as an auditor for the Spiegel Co.
Pauline married Francis Richard "Dick" Craig on June 23, 1945, at St. Barbara Catholic Church in Vulcan. Pauline and Dick lived in Chicago and Evanston, Ill. for 44 years before retiring to Vulcan in 1980. Both were devout members of St. Barbara Church. Dick preceded her in death on April 17, 1989.
Pauline was the beloved mother to her son John (Lisa) Craig of Lansing. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Matthew, Michael and James Craig of Williamston; great-grandson, Nathan Craig; nieces, Linda (Gary) DuFresne, Sandra (David) Grosvenor, Roseann (Dick) DeMarse and Mary (Robert) Kingston; nephews, Ralph (Patty) Lorenzoni, John Baranski, Albert Baranski and Michael (Danielle) Baranski; sisters-in-law, Helen Gustafson, Helen Craig and Rose Wenzel; and many special friends and neighbors.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Thaddeus Baranski; sisters, Elizabeth Kovach and Marie Lorenzoni; and brothers-in-law, Nicholas Kovach and Wallace Lorenzoni.
The family would like to thank everyone who enriched her final years by their loving care and compassion. Your thoughtfulness will never be forgotten.
Visitation will be Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. at St. Barbara Catholic Church in Vulcan.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 11 a.m. at the church with Fr. Tim Ekaitis presiding.
Interment will follow at the Norway Township Cemetery.
