Jana Stevenson Jones, 55, lost her battle with colon cancer on May 26, 2002, at home in Arlington, Texas. She however, won the struggle of life by giving her heart, her knowledge and her love to all she knew. Jana was preceded in death by her father, Ralph H. Stevenson and is survived by four children, Bryan, Steven, Kory and Michael Jones; her mother, Billie Stevenson; sister, Dianna Humphrey and husband Neal; brother, Scott Stevenson and wife, Rhonda; niece, Kelli Stevenson; nephews, Todd Humphrey and wife, Jennifer, Mark Humphrey and wife, Michelle, Ryan Humphrey, Gregory and Christopher Stevenson; aunt, Gertrude Thompson as well as numerous cousins, the love of her life, John Moore and a bounty of friends.

Jana graduated as Valedictorian from Muleshoe High School and received her Bachelor's Degree in Education, Cum Laude, from Phillips University and a Master's Degree in Education from the University of Texas - El Paso. In 2000, Jana was elected Teacher of the Year at Hale Elementary School in Arlington.

A Memorial Service will be conducted at Trinity United Methodist Church, 3321 W. Park Row, Arlington, Texas at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, May 30, 2002, Revs. Patti and Dale Waser officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family ask that Memorial Donations be made in Jana's name to the American Cancer Society, 8900 John Carpenter Frwy., Dallas, Texas 75247 or the Community Hospice of Texas, 6100 Western Place, Ste. #500, Ft.
