Barbara Petrucci, 77, died Sunday, December 8, 2012. Barb was born March 28, 1935, in Wallingford, CT, to William and Anna Schott, the second of four children. She was educated at Holy Trinity through high school and then became a hairstylist. In 1958, she married Frederick F. Petrucci of Meriden, CT, and together they shared 53 happy years and raised four children.

Barbara was a long time resident of Longmeadow, MA, and lived the last 25 years in Somers, CT, and during the summers at Leadmine Lake in Sturbridge, MA.

Barb loved to dance and travel with Fred, to play bridge and tennis, and to entertain friends at their house. Friends often commented on the delicious food she and Fred prepared with the Dirty Dozen gourmet club. She loved her family and adored her grandchildren. She had a great smile and a snappy style of dressing, which complemented her blue eyes. Barbara had a wonderful way with children and kept cookies and toys ready at her house for young friends. She was a very kind, warm person and was loved by people who knew her. She will be missed.

She is survived by her daughters Geralyn Prusinski of Elburn, IL; Cheryl Armata of Suffield, CT; Beth Petrucci-Cooper of Tucson, AZ; together with their respective spouses: Tom Prusinski, Barry Armata, and Carrie Petrucci-Cooper. She is also survived by her four grandchildren: Kyle Prusinski of Vancouver, WA, Nikky Beth Prusinski of Chicago, IL, Peter Armata of Boston, MA, and Paul Armata of Suffield, CT.

Her beloved husband Fred and son Frederick W. predeceased her. In her later years, Barb was afflicted by Alzheimer's disease and was lovingly cared for by her husband, daughters, siblings, friends, and the dedicated staff of Kettle Brook of East Windsor.

Her family will receive friends from 9:00 to 10:15 a.m., on Thursday, Dec. 13th, 2012, at Nicholson and Carmon Funeral Home, 443 East St. (Rt. 159) in Suffield, followed by a memorial Mass of Christian Burial, at 11:00 a.m., at St Adalbert's, 90 Alden Ave in Enfield. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to the CT Alzheimer's Association, 2075 Silas Deane Highway, Suite 100, Rocky Hill, CT 06067.
