Cornelius Hall, Jr. was born May 8, 1936 to Lee Dell King and Cornelius Hall Sr. in Prichard, AL. He attended St James Major Catholic School and graduated from Most Pure Heart of Mary in 1956. Cornelius joined the Knights of St. Peter Claver after graduation and became one of a few blacks to help integrate Spring Hill College in Mobile, AL. The next year he attended Tuskegee Institute where he marched with other students and Dr. Martin L. King to foster racial equality. He then went to join the Navy, and after a honarable discharge from the Navy became a fireman with the City of Alameda, California. Cornelius was predeceased by his parents, brother Edwin Collins, and son Gerrold C. Hall. He leaves to mourn his passing loving and devoted wife Patricia Hardwick-Hall, two sons Brian G. Hall (Dallas ,TX) and Jeffrey D. Hall (Las Vegas, NV); three sisters Bessie M. Holloway (devoted)- Prichard, AL; Elnora Hall Northern (devoted), and Pearl L. Hall, both of Baton Rouge LA; step-daughters Valanita H. Schnyder and Sharmine Y. Hamilton; step-grandchildren, Clayton P. Schnyder III and Amber D. Schnyder, all of Mobile, AL; a devoted nephew, Norman M. Vivians; a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends; two devoted Lamar (Belinda) Lott and Vernon Coleman. His remains will lie in state on Thursday September 13, 2012 from 1pm until 8pm at Small's Mortuary, Mobile, AL. Visitation will be held Friday, September 14, 2012 from 9am until the 11am funeral hour at St. James Major Catholic Church, 714 North College St. Prichard, AL. Interment will be held Monday September 17, 2012 at 1:15pm in Barrancas National Cemetery, Pensacola, FL. DIGNIFIED AND PROFESSIONAL SERVICES ENTRUSTED TO SMALL'S MORTUARY 950 S. BROAD ST. MOBILE, AL 36603.
