Graveside funeral services will be held for Mickey Johnston, 74, at the Homer Arlington Cemetery on Thursday, Dec. 13, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. R.B. Moore officiating. The family will receive guest for visitation on Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 405 E. 5th St., Homer.
Mickey was born Nov. 17, 1938 in Cotton Valley, LA to Brooksey Henry Johnston and Josephine "Jessie" Simolke Johnston. He entered into rest Monday, Dec. 10, 2012 at Northern Louisiana Medical Center in Ruston following a brief illness. Mickey was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Homer and was the longtime owner and operator of MJ Brick in Homer.
He was preceded in death by his parents. Mickey is survived by one son, Kelly Johnston and his wife, Debi of Gladewater, TX; one sister, Jean McLean and husband Mac of Richmond, TX; one brother, John Johnston and wife Mary of Shreveport; two grandchildren, Kade Johnston of Gladewater, TX and Kaitlin Rice of Seffner, FL.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Homer High School Class of 1957.
