MIDLAND - John L. Oliver, 70, died Saturday, Nov. 16, 1996, in a local hospital.
Service will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday in Ellis Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Resthaven Memorial Park.
He was born Sept. 12, 1926, in Ovid, Colo., and had been a resident of Midland since 1955. A World War II veteran, he was a consulting engineer. He was awarded the Point of Light award from President George Bush in 1990 for his volunteer work with the Texas Youth Commission.
Survivors include his wife, Dolores ``Lorie'' Oliver of Midland; and a son, Leon Oliver of Monterey, Calif.
