Blacksmith and farmer. Son of Sarah (Knipp) and Jonathan Jackson Rodgers. Widower of Alice (Pridemore) Rodgers. His second wife, Susan "Susie" (Taylor) Rodgers , survived him.

James Thurman Carroll, his grandson, had the shared headstone set in the cemetery in later years.

Home of Jonathan Rodgers. His son, George Rufus, later burned it down, "because I was tired looking at it." It is assumed seeing it decline made him sad.
