Mrs. Mary Ellen Haslag, 90, of Hawk Point, MO, passed away on Wednesday, November 21, 2012. She was born on March 19, 1922, in St. Louis,MO, the daughter of John and Theresa (Seymour) Bailey. After attending the local schools, she went on to graduate from St. Mark's High School in St. Louis. In 1944 she married the love of her life, Raymond Haslag, in Pensacola, Florida. Mary Ellen and Raymond were blessed with five children: Raymond T. "Tom", Kevin P., Mary T. "Tess" Judy, and Mary Ellen "Melaine". She truly delighted in the role as wife and mother. When she was not caring for her family, she was at Sacred Heart Parish in Florissant. Mary Ellen helped keep the church clean, helped with church bazaars and anything else that needed to be done. She loved to read mysteries, especially Agatha Christie novels. Mary Ellen served as a Girl Scout leader when her girls were younger. She loved flowers and enjoyed going antiquing when she got the chance. In later years, she and Raymond moved to Hawk Point, MO, and became members of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Hawk Point. They enjoyed their move to the country and liked the wide open spaces. In 2007, her beloved husband Raymond, of 63 years, passed away. Mary Ellen was a very loving and caring woman who touched the hearts of all those who knew her. She is survived by her children, Raymond T "Tom" and his wife Clarine Haslag of Tucson, AZ, Kevin P. and wife Elaine Haslag of Washington D.C., Mary T. ‘Tess" and her husband Ronald Clark of San Antonio, TX, Judy and her husband John Vrabel of Hawk Point, MO, and Mary Ellen "Melanie" and her husband Ken Baker of Spanish Fort, AL. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Raymond Haslag, and two brothers: Jack and Tom Bailey.

Visitation to be held on Tuesday, November 27, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the McCoy-Blossom Funeral Home & Cremation Center, in Troy.

A funeral mass to be held on Wednesday, November 28, 2012, 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Hawk Point. Father Frank Koeninger to officiate. Interment to follow in National Cemetery, Jefferson Barracks,MO.
