He was a member of Magnolia Baptist Church where he served as Deacon and adult Sunday school teacher. He retired from Federal Paper Board after 27 years.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Louise Watts Etheridge; a daughter, Vickie Etheridge Sasser and husband, Douglas of Hallsboro; a son, Terry Etheridge and wife, Patricia of Whiteville; three grandchildren, Justin Wadis Evans of Hallsboro, Ron Sasser of Hallsboro and Elizabeth Gail Etheridge of Whiteville; three brothers, James "Thurman" Etheridge of Leland, Thurston Etheridge of Whiteville, and Jackie J. Etheridge and wife, Willa Dean, of Whiteville; a sister, Verlie Mae Hayes of Whiteville.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, James Willard and John William Etheridge; a sister, Isalene Cumbee.
His funeral service will be conducted 2:00 pm, Friday, December 14, 2012, at Magnolia Baptist Church by Rev. Ralph Gore and Rev. Ervin Etheridge. Burial will be in the Etheridge Cemetery.
