Mary Helen Calahan, 81, of Crossville, passed away Dec. 5, 2012. Funeral services were held Dec. 7 at Homestead Baptist Church. Bro. Jim McPherson and Bro. Michael Rollins officiating, with burial in Green Acres Memory Gardens.
She was born Nov. 21, 1931, in White County, TN, the daughter of William Cosby and Elizabeth Smith Baltimore. On Dec. 16, 1950, she and her husband, Everette Calahan, married. She was retired after many years with LP Shanks and was also a member of Homestead Baptist Church. She had a true servant's heart and her church was very important to her. She served for several years as their secretary and was very active in many other church activities as well. She was a gifted seamstress who loved to quilt and sew.
She is survived by her sons, Tommy Calahan and his wife, Henrietta, and Larry Calahan and his wife, Debbie; daughters, Janet Graham and her husband, Mike, and Carol Smith and her husband, James, all of Crossville; sister, Grace Burton of Atlanta, GA; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Everette Calahan; brothers, Bill and Benny Thomas Baltimore; and sister, Betty Baltimore.
Pallbearers were Scott Calahan, Ben Calahan, Logan Smith, Jessie Edmonds, Cain Rogers, Jason Eskew and Bobby Brown. John Calahan and Landon Brown served as honorary pallbearers.
