The memorial mass for Millard Cummings, 88 year-old Enid resident will be Friday, December 14, 2012 at10:00AM in St. Gregory's the Great Catholic Church. Rev. Joseph Irwin will officiate. Rev. Larry Kowalski will concelebrate. Burial of cremains will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home.

Millard was born October 28, 1924 in Ames, Oklahoma to Fred and Bernice (Welch) Cummings and died Sunday, December 9, 2012 in St. Mary's Regional Medical Center. He attended local schools and graduated with the class of 1943 from Enid High School. He turned down a football scholarship to Michigan and attended O.U. where he played tackle. He graduated from O.U. with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and as an Ensign in the United States Navy.

On May 9, 1949, he married Agnes Brady in St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. The couple made their home in Enid, where Millard worked as a chief pipe-line engineer for Champlin Refinery for over 26 years. He was a member of St. Gregory's, the American Legion, and the V.F.W. He loved to read westerns, play the daily jumble puzzle, and shoot pool.

He is survived by his wife Agnes, of the home, his sons; James Cummings and wife Darlene of Houston,TX., Robert (Bob) Cummings and wife Darlene of Red River, NM., and Richard Cummings and wife Donna of Edmond, OK. His daughter Sheryl and husband Frank Severin of Meno, OK. 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one great- grandson, Jaxson, one granddaughter, Angela, and three brothers, Don and Alfred,and Verlin, and one sister, Neva.
