Contributor: MAJ Jimmy Cotton (48803557): He graduated with the Class of 43E at George Field in Illinois, S/N: O-804363. He was a B-17 pilot assigned to the 452nd Bomb Group 728th Bomb Squadron flying missions in Europe and was shot down on February 25, 1944. He bailed out over Saarbrücken, Germany, and became a POW. In February 1945 he was repatriated back to the U.S. and spent time in Walter Reed Hospital (MACR #2862) .
