BATH, S.C. - Mr. Preston Bud Jones, 89, of Bath, SC, beloved husband of sixty-four years to Mrs. Jessie Mae Blackwell Jones, entered into rest on Monday, December 10th, 2012. Born in and a lifelong resident of Aiken County, SC, he was a son of the late Press and Leatha Webb Jones. A World War II Veteran, he proudly served his country in the United States Army. He retired from the Bath Mill after forty years of service where he was a Fixer. Bud enjoyed going to yard sales, flea markets, fishing and he really enjoyed a good meal. In addition to his wife and parents, family members include his children, Leatha Odom, Bath, SC, Harold Lee Jones, (Victoria) Clearwater, SC, Julie Kohl Jones, Bath, SC, Susan Long, Bath, SC and Cindy Jones, Bath, SC; eight grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by grandchildren, Richard Rick James Odom, Jr., Kathy Corley and Heins Kohl. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Wednesday, December 12th, 2012, at 2 o clock in the chapel of Hatcher Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Langley, SC, with Pastor Chris Williams officiating. Veterans honors will be accorded by the United States Army Honor Guard. In accordance with his wishes, Bud will be cremated following the service and his cremated remains will be interred in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Graniteville, SC, at a later date. It has been requested by the family that memorials in memory of Bud be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
