BERLIN - Emma Reba Brigham, 89, formerly of Pike Drive in Berlin, died on Dec. 3, 2012, at Central Vermont Medical Center.

She was born on Feb. 18, 1923, in Morrisville, the daughter of Melville and Bernice (Guyette) Brigham.

She attended public schools in Morrisville, graduating in 1942.

She worked for a number of jobs over the years. Most recently she worked as a bookstore clerk for the University of Vermont, before retiring.

Emma was a quiet and reserved person, although she most certainly enjoyed the company of her close friends. Her passion was reading books which she found to be very intellectually stimulating. She was also fond of her beloved cats.

Survivors include her friends and caregivers, Judy Sayers, of Worcester, and Cheryl Clark, of Berlin; sister Eunice Tatro, of Morrisville; and nephew Morris Root, of Springfield.

She was predeceased by a sister, Lucy Root.

There will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be held in the spring at the Wheeler Cemetery in Morrisville.
