MISHAWAKA - Dorothy M. Simms, 81, of Mishawaka, IN, passed away at 9:08 p.m. Sunday, December 9, 2012, at Elkhart Hospice House. Dorothy was born July 24, 1931, in Elkhart, IN, to Gordon and Mary Sarah (Robin) Fletcher.
On August 27, 1948, in South Bend, IN, as Dorothy M. Fletcher, she married George V. Simms. George survives along with their children, Marsha Selvage (Simms) of Allen, TX, Van (Hope) Simms of Niles, MI, and Todd M. (Sharon) Simms of Mishawaka, IN; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; three brothers, Gordon Fletcher, Bob Fletcher and Carl Fletcher, all of Elkhart, IN; and one sister, Madeline Warren of Edwardsburg, MI.
A sister, Ruth Backert, preceded Dorothy in death.
Funeral services will be on Wednesday, December 12, 2012, at 1:00 p.m. at the Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 N. Main Street, Mishawaka, where there will also be visitation on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Jim Getz will officiate the services. Burial will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Osceola, IN. Memorial contributions may be made to Kingdom Hall, Mishawaka South Congregation.
