James R. Headley, 54, Washington, PA died on Saturday, February 14, 1976 while vacationing in Bradenton,FL.

He was born May 6, 1921 in Greene County, the son of Albert Ewing and Vada Lemley Headley. He was a graduate of Trinity High School and attended Penn Commercial College.

He established Headley Farm Machinery Sales in 1962 and later formed a partnership wiht his son Larry Headley.

He was a veteran of World War II and served in the Army and was prisoner of war in Germany and was in the Bad Orb POW camp, Stalag IX b. He was captured December 20, 1944 during the Battle of the Bulge.

He was a member of the American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post 175, the Liberty Methodist Church, the Chestnut Ridge Grange and PA Farm Equipment Dealers Assn.

Surviving in addition to his mother and father are his wife Betty L. Phillips Headley, whom he married on May 1, 1946 one son, Larry at home; one daughter, Becky (James) Herron of Frankfort, IN; two grandchildren and two sisters Genevieve (Maynard) Murray and Sara Jane (Mageed) Ahwesh.--obit Waynesburg Republican
