John Killian, one of Belfast's old and most respected citizens, died at his home there on Friday morning May 19, after an illness of several months of intestinal trouble.
Mr. Killian was 65 years of age. He moved to the town of Belfast 40 years ago and has resided since on a farm on White Creek, which he purchased at that time. He is survived by his wife and several children all of whom are grown.

The funeral was held in St. Patrick's church, Belfast, Monday at 10 o'clock, with a Solemn High Mass by Rev. Bernard Gill of Buffalo, assisted by Rev. J. J. Dealy of Belfast and Rev. Francis Kanaley of Angelica also Vincent G. McCarthy of Allegany Sec. assistant. The remains were laid to rest in St. Patrick's cemetery.

Miss Kathryne (sic) Killian, who for the past four years has been a teacher in this town (Belmont) was Mr. Killian's daughter. She closed a school year in the Tucker's District Wednesday before her father's death. The family have the deep sympathy of their many friends.
