September 1939 – Marriage. ST. ANTHONY, Sept. 19. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Ensminger of St. Anthony announce the marriage of their daughter, Hazel, to Cleon Gee, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Gee of St. Anthony on Saturday, September 16, at Ashton.

The bride is a graduate of the Wilson high school of Council Groves, Iowa. She came to St. Anthony with her parents about a year ago.

The groom is a graduate of the St. Anthony high and has attended the University of Idaho at Moscow and the Utah State Agricultural College. He is affiliated with the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity.

They will make their home in St. Anthony where Mr. Gee is employed in the soils conservation office. –Special to The Post-Register, an Idaho Falls, Idaho newspaper, published Tuesday, September 19, 1939, Page 5.



March 1941 – Teton County ACA Director Found Dead Near Victor. DRIGGS, April 1. Cleon Gee, about 27, director of the agricultural conservation administration in Teton County, was discovered dead in his car, parked near the Victor ski hill, about noon Monday.

Joe Williams, Teton county sheriff, quoted a physician who examined the body as saying Mr. Gee died of carbon monoxide poisoning and had been dead about 12 hours when found. The sheriff and Jack Cowan, coroner, conducted the investigation.

James Ingram of Victory discovered the body.

Sheriff Williams said that a hose had been attached to the exhaust pipe of the car and run in through a widow. All cracks around the windows had been stuff with rags, the sheriff said.

Mr. Gee is survived by his widow, Mrs. Hazel Gee of Driggs, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Gee of St. Anthony, and a sister who resides in Portland, Oregon.

April 1941 – Passage. St. Anthony, April 2. Funeral services for Cleon Ether Gee, 26, will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at St. Anthony under the directions of Bishop George Browning of the L. D. S. church and the Rev. R. V. Sapp of the Community church.

He was born November 27, 1914, at Ashton, the son of John Ether and Edith A. Karren Gee. He died about 6 a.m. Monday.

In September 1939, he married Hazel Ensminger at Ashton.

SURVIVORS. Surviving, besides his wife, are his parents and one sister, Mrs. Geneva Marie Archer of Portland.

Burial will be in the Pineview cemetery at Ashton under the direction of the W. M. Hansen and son mortuary of St. Anthony. – From the newspaper files of The Post-Register published in Idaho Falls, Idaho Wednesday, April 2, 1941, Page 8.
