He was a United States Army Veteran and was retired after twenty years of service from Midland Furniture Company.
He is survived by his wife Wanda of Van Buren; one son Roy Gene and his wife Winnie of Lavaca; Three sisters Carolyn Philpott, Margaret Hamilton, JoAnn Chadwick all of Van Buren; one brother Jerry Asher of Fort Smith; two grandchildren Emerald and Beau Asher.
Funeral Services will be 3PM Wednesday, December 11, 2012 at Ocker Memorial Chapel with burial at Gill Cemetery in Van Buren under the direction Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren.
Pallbearers will be Roy Gene Asher, Beau Asher, Tim Cothren, Larry Blevins, John Wooten, Bill Daunis, Gaylon Kinsey.
