Son of Clyde & Priscilla (Wood) Swearingen.
Military: U.S. Army, 1944 - 1946.
Worked on farms and hay mills.
In the last 20 years, had lived in DeWeese, Ansley and Litchfield; moved to the Good Samaritan Center in Ravenna in July 2002.
Activities: lifetime member of American Legion Post 351 in Miller and a life member of DAV Chapter 14 in Kearney.
Survivors include: brothers, Leonard of Litchfield, Junius of Brule, Bernard of Holdrege and Clarence of DeWeese; sisters, Carolyn Richards of Riverdale, Bonnie Hess of Mankato, Kan., and Deloris Folkerts of Bellevue; and adopted daughter, Dixie Gibbons of Kearney; also brother-in-law, Allen Richards of Riverdale; sisters-in-law, Janice of Litchfield, Marlena of Brule and Marge of DeWeese; and many nieces and nephews.
Was preceded in death by his parents; adopted son, Warren; brother, Francis; and sisters, Norma Sutton, Leota Muirhead, Gaylene Harmoney and Ellen Muirhead.
