Clifford W. "Son" Shores, Jr., age 79, of Linton, formerly of Konawa, Oklahoma, passed away at 2:35 a.m. on Monday, November 19, 2012, at Regional Hospital in Terre Haute. He was born September 15, 1933, in Wewoka, Oklahoma, the son of Clifford W. Shores, Sr. and Annie Mae (Barker) Shores.

He worked on oil derricks during his working years. He was a member of the Apostolic Bibleway Church in Linton. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War, earning three medals.

Loving survivors include a daughter, Kimberly "Becky" (James) Anderson of Linton; two brothers, Frankie D. (Glenda) Shores of Stigler, Oklahoma and Jerry (Liz) Shores of Porum, Oklahoma; three sisters, Katie Shores of Eufaula, Oklahoma, Patricia Burns of Jasper, Texas, and Betty (Oren) Bartlett of Stigler, Oklahoma; two grandchildren, Gregory Lee (Heather) Sebastian of Spencer and Melody Sebastian of Linton; and six great-grandchildren, Jamin, Malachi, Chrystina, Tyler, Ayden and Kyra.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Juanita; his second wife, Ruby; three sisters, Daisy Harper, Mary Swope and Leta Mae Smith; and a half-brother, Wilbur Shores.

A funeral service will be conducted at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 21, 2012, with Rev. Steve Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Dugger Cemetery. American Legion Post #22 will conduct military graveside rites.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 12 noon until the time of service.
