Funeral services for Jacob Feitig who died Monday afternoon at the home of Mrs. P. E. H Feitig, Stop 4, Nine Mile Road in his 78th year.

Mr. Feitig was one of the oldest residents of Henrico County, having made his home on the Nine Mile Road near Oakwood Cemetery since 1856. He was born in Mittlesheib, Bavaria, in Germany, May 1, 1853 and in 1854 with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Conrad Feitig, moved to Richmond, locating on Canal Street, December 1, 1854. Two years later the family moved to the county and there Mr. Feitig lived until the time of his death. He was a successful truck farmer and was well known throughout the county.

During the War Between the States he was a familiar figure about the soldeirs' camps near his home, where, though only a child, he did a thriving business selling produce to the army.

In 1878 Mr. Feitig married Miss Eva Marie Bender in Philadelphia. She died October 5, 1921. His is survived by six sons, one brother, Adam Feitig, three sisters, Mrs. Amelia Lohman, Mrs. Bertha Lohman and Mrs. Louise Pohlig and seven grandchildren.
