Louis LeRoy Jr. was born August 18, 1941 in Yuma, Arizona. Louis passed suddenly on November 25, 2007 at Yuma Regional Medical Center following a two-year battle with a rare blood and liver disorder. Louis attended Immaculate Conception Parochial School, Fourth Avenue Junior High, and graduated from Yuma High School in 1959. He attended the University of Arizona and received his Bachelor of Fine Arts in 1972.

Louis was a prolific artist who devoted his entire life to his one great love--art. He loved to paint chiles, which became his trademark and logo in the 1960's when he formed "Salsa Graphics." He transformed simple objects into works of art, changing the ordinary into the extraordinary. Surrounded by this art, Louis shared it with everyone who passed through his doors. Known for his chiles and Chicano art, his works were exhibited throughout the U.S. and Canada, and on the World Wide Web.
