Tribute to the Memory of Mrs. J. D. Hardin
"Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord." Even when earthly ties are broken, and hearts are left bleeding, we know they are, "Safe in the arms of Jesus."
Mrs. Hardin was borned Mar 16th 1869, joined Macedonia Baptist Church in Carroll Co. in her 16th year was married to Rev. J. D. Hardin July 4, 1886. On Feb 3rd 1919, her mission on earth was ended, and God carried her gentle spirit home. Her husband, four boys, and two girls survive. She lived such a life of kindness to friends, two devotion to her Church and unfathomed love for her family that should sustain them in their grief, and make them realize though she is absent from the home on earth she has en-deared the home in heaven for them.
Mrs. Hardin was a victim of enfluenza and endured great suffering. All that loving hearts could dictate, and kind hands could do was done to stay the disease but to no avail. Loved ones and friends will miss her, for her pleasant smile, and gentle disposition won the hearts of all who knew her. But would we, if we could recall her to this troublesome earth? No let us join her in that beautiful home, Jesus has prepared for his children, eternal in Heaven.
The funeral services were from the home, conducted by Revs J. A. McArthur and J. T. Buford, interment at Bethlehem Cemetery, of which church she has been a member of for several years. May those who are grieved, be comforted by him who doeth all things well.
