Mrs. Maggie Music, age 87, died Tuesday, September 10, 12:05 a.m.,at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Elva Meek of West Van Lear following an extended illness. Born November 23, 1878 at Van Lear, she was the daughter of Simonand Clarinda Webb Butcher. She resided at West Van Lear for sixyears, belonging to the United Baptist Church. Her husband, William Music, preceded her in death on August 14,1936. Survivors include three sons, Earlie of West Van Lear, Lindsay ofPaintsvilee, and Willie of LaFontaine, Indiana; two daughters,Mrs. Malyie Smith and Mrs. Elva Meek, both of West Van Lear; asister, Mrs. Judy Banks of Van Lear and two brothers T.H. Butcheralso of Van Lear, and William Butcher of Paintsville. Eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren also survive. The funeral was held Thursday September 22 at 1 p.m. at the VanLear Free Will Baptist Church with Revs. Bill Tackett and Edgar Hewlett officiating. Interment followed in the Webb Cemetery of Van Lear under direction of the Preston Funeral Home.
