Scott Bros. store at Harlem was sold this week to Ralph Maple, son of Ed Maple. Possession will be given May 1. Mr. Maple takes the merchandise at the market price and the real estate (store building and residence) at $2800. Mr. Scott will stay with Mr. Maple for 30 days, beyond which Mr. Scott has made no plans. The Scott brothers have been in business in Harlem 12 years ago, and have built up a flourishing business.

His obituary in the Free Press Standard, Carrollton, Ohio, Thursday, December 8, 1966.

Ralph E. Maple, 75, of 476 South Street, Carrollton, died Saturday night in Aultman Hospital where he had been a patient since a November 14 auto mishap here. He was injured Monday morning, November 14, when the car he was driving west on 2nd Street SW crashed into a tree at the intersection of Rader Ct. At press time, Police Chief H. A. Tasker said no word had been received from Stark County Coroner G. S. Shaheen, who was to rule on the cause of death. If ruled a traffic fatality, it would be the village's first and Carroll County's 12th of the year.

Born in Center Twp., Mr. Maple had been a mail contract carrier 25 years before retiring in 1956. He carried mail in the Carrollton, Dellroy and Canton area. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Besse (Noble) Maple; tow sons, Joe and Owen, both of Carrollton. (Note - the rest of the obituary was missing.)
