OGDEN – Bradley Joseph Phillips, 46, returned home to his Heavenly Father on Sunday, October 14, 2007 at McKay-Dee Hospital from complications caused by a lifetime of mental and physical disabilities.

He was born April 26, 1961 to Joseph Boyd Phillips and Helen Joy Aardema.

Brad was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and attended the Special Needs Group for many years and the Wide Horizons Branch.

Simple things made Brad the happiest. Brad loved pickup trucks, garbage trucks, teddy bears, Tinker Toys, Santa and Christmas. Brad loved going to workshop. Brad loved his friends at Wide Horizons and Northside Center. Most of all, Brad loved his family. Brad loved coming home to visit his family and going on rides to get a soda pop or a shake. Brad loved all of his family but especially loved his mother and Grandmother Phillips. Brad always listened to his mother. With hours of help from his Grandma Phillips, Brad learned to spell his name, tie his shoes, and his ABC's.

Brad was preceded in death by his grandparents.

Brad is survived by his parents Helen and Mark Pewtress of Ogden and Boyd and Jeraldine Phillips of Weston, Idaho; five brothers and sisters, David (Ganine) Phillips of Roy, Glen (Sherice) Phillips of Clinton, Laurie (Brad) Buttars of Idaho Falls, Michelle (Michael) Carlisle of South Weber, and Marcia Phillips of Salt Lake; a grandfather, Vance Pewtress of Ogden; many uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews.

Over the years, Brad was cared for by many loving social workers and nursing staff at his group homes and hospitals. We thank all of you for your love and care. Many of you spent hours of you own time after your shifts to visit him in the hospitals. We thank the nursing staff at the hospitals for your sympathetic care.

Graveside services will be held at Myers Evergreen Memorial Park, 100 Monroe Blvd. at 12 noon on Friday, October 19, 2007. Friends and family may call on Thursday at Myers Ogden Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd. from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.
