AVA -- Roscoe M. "Ross" Clendenin, 70, of Ava, died at 11:55 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2004, in Rehab and Care Center in Murphysboro.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Wilson's Funeral Home in Ava, with the Rev. Cecil Dunning officiating. Burial will be in Ebenezer Cemetery in Rockwood. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today and 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Ebenezer Cemetery Association.

Ross was born Nov. 1, 1933, in Rockwood, to Harry Burns and Clara Husband Clendenin.

He was a member of First Baptist Church in Ava.

Survivors include two brothers, Wilbur H. Clendenin of Ava and Jack Clendenin of Rockwood; and two sisters, Norma Moake Downen of Chester and Mary Standaert of Fort St. Lucy, Fla.

His parents, one brother and one sister preceded him in death.
