Killed in action while serving as a Private First Class in the 2 Battalion, 3 Marines, 9 Marine Amphibious Brigade, Fleet Marine Force. Recipient of the Purple Heart. His name is located on Panel 18E, Row 127 of the Vietnam Memorial.

Following information provided by Find A Graver, Tony:

Scott was born in Rockledge but grew up in Melbourne, where he graduated from Melbourne High School. He enlisted in the Marines September 18, 1965 at the Jacksonville Recruiting Office.
Upon arriving in Vietnam he was assigned to Hotel Company, 2nd Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division. He died as a result of a gunshot wound from small arms fire during an engagement with enemy forces, at Hill 881N, 9 kilometers west northwest of Khe Sanh Airfield.
Survived by his parents, Donald E & Phyllis Barnes Richardson, a sister, Marlene and two brothers, Lynn and Barry
