Obituary: GUYMON, Okla. - Bobby Dale "Bob" Pieratt, 70, died Friday, Nov. 17, 2000.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Victory Memorial United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mike Chaffin, pastor, and the Rev. Don Calvert, pastor of Hardesty United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Elmhurst Cemetery by Henson-Novak Funeral Directors.

Mr. Pieratt was born in Gate. He graduated from Guymon High School in 1945 and from Panhandle A&M in Goodwell. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and received the Purple Heart.

Making his home in Guymon, he became involved in real estate. He was a partner in Remmell Real Estate and later was owner and broker of Bob Pieratt Real Estate.

He was past president of the Guymon Chamber of Commerce and the Guymon Ambassadors. He served two terms on the city council and was a board member of the Panhandle Area Sheltered Workshop.

In 1993, he served as president of the Oklahoma Association of Realtors. He was named the F. Hiner Dale Citizen of the Year in 1987 and Oklahoma Realtor of the Year in 1997.

He married Ginger Scott in 1954 at Guymon.

Mr. Pieratt was preceded in death by a daughter, Shelly Gayle Pieratt.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Becky Pieratt James of Stillwater; a son, Kelly Scott Pieratt of Pueblo, Colo.; five sisters, Wanda Grider, JoAnne Harris and Kay Morrison, all of Guymon, Jeanne Doyle of Phoenix and Judy Watson of Eldorado, Kan.; three brothers, Kelly Pieratt of Longview, Texas, Billy Pieratt of Liberal, Kan., and Jim Pieratt of Guymon; and five grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials be to Victory Memorial United Methodist Church. Memorial will be accepted at the funeral home.

Notification of the serious injury of Bobby Pieratt, Guymon youth, has been received by his parents, Mr. & Mrs. F. B. Pieratt, 1610 N. May.

Young Pieratt was hit with shrapnel from a mortar shell in Korea and sustained injuries of the right arm, left leg, right hip and feet. He is in the hospital in Osaka, Japan.
