D Franks, Pvt. Co. A, 28th (Gray's) Louisiana Infantry. Dock enlisted on May 9, 1863 in Brush Valley, Louisiana. He appears on a Roll of Prisoners of War. Parcled at Natchitoches, Louisiana, June 15, 1865. Resident of Bienville Parish, Louisiana.

Dock was a ordained Baptist Minister.

Married First: Matilda Cummings. She died, May 13,1874, Bienville Parish, Louisiana

Married Second: Sarah Jane Butler, November 4, 1874, Bienville Parish, Louisiana.

Although "Doctor" is on his headstone and on the application for his headstone, all other records refer to him as "Dock" or simply "D".
