YORKTOWN - Jacob Alfred Hall, 71, died Monday, October 7, 2002, at home. A native of Patrick Co., Va., he had been a Peninsula resident for the past 51 years. Jacob retired from the Newport News Shipbuilding & Dry Dock Co. in 1992 as a paint department foreman with 41 years of service. Mr. Hall was an Army Air Corps veteran of WWII, a member of Grafton Christian Church and the Newport News Ship Building Progressive Club. Survivors include his beloved wife of 52 years, Betty Hall of Yorktown; three sons; one daughter; one sister; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2002, at the Weymouth Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted by the Rev. Stephen Smythers and the Rev. Donald Monk at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 10, 2002, at the Weymouth Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Peninsula Memorial Park. A reception will be held for family and friends at the Grafton Christian Church following the service.
