He was born Oct. 21, 1920, in Kosciusko County to Elmer and Othella (Igo) Hoffman. He married Elaine Walgamuth, who died in 1974. He married Dorothy Templin on April 5, 1975.
She survives along with two sons, Randy (Pam) Hoffman of Nappanee and Dan (Karen) Hoffman of La Otto; one stepson, Jerry (Jane) Templin of Leesburg; four grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and eight step-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Phyllis Yeiter, and two brothers, Robert and Max Hoffman.
Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Friday in the Nichols Cemetery, Mentone. The Rev. Milt Gould of Clunette Methodist Church will officiate. Thompson-Legancher & Yoder Funeral Homes, 950 N. Main St., Nappanee, is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Hoffman was a member of Clunette Methodist Church and Warsaw American Legion. He loved golfing and tractor pulls.
