GOSHEN - The memorial service in celebration of the life of Muriel Alice Fielder, 82, who died Dec. 6, 2012, in Sarasota, Fla., will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 9, 2013, at Grace Episcopal Church in Forestdale, officiated by the Rev. Margaret Fletcher, rector, and followed by a reception in the church undercroft. Burial will be at a later date in Old Goshen Community Cemetery.

Mrs. Fielder was born in Brandon Sept. 12, 1930, the daughter of Raymond and Dorothy (Noble) Brown.

She graduated from Brandon High School in 1948.

In earlier years, she worked summers at Camp Thorpe in Goshen. She also cut pulpwood with her father and her brother, Bud.

Mrs. Fielder was a member of Brandon American Legion Unit 55 Ladies Auxiliary, St. Thomas and Grace Episcopal Churches in Brandon and Forestdale.

She was a seamstress and braided rugs. She also enjoyed gardening, canning and bowling.

Survivors include her husband, Francis George Fielder of Goshen, whom she married in Goshen Sept. 18, 1948; five children, Richard of Rutland, Jeanette Sweeney of North Clarendon, Lauri Gonthier of Sarasota, Fla., Delwin of Whiting and Rodney of Poultney; seven siblings, Kathryn Charron of Walpole, Mass., Kenneth, Madine Reed, both of Goshen, David of London, Ky., Marcia Peer of South Paris, Maine, Kevin of Alamogordo, N.M., and Rachel Thow of Sudbury; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by a brother, Bud.

Memorial contributions, in lieu of flowers, may be made to Goshen Town Hall Restoration Fund, in care of Goshen Town Clerk, 50 Carlisle Hill Road, Goshen, VT 05733.
