Rochelle E. Burton, 70, of Muncie, passed away Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at IU Health University Hospital, Indianapolis, IN.

Born in Cleveland, Ohio, she was the daughter of Ralph and the late Florence (Sullivan) Roche.

Rochelle was the 1959 FFA Queen and a 1960 graduate of Medina High School. She graduated from Massilon City Hospital of Nursing and was a Registered Nurse until her retirement in 2002. She worked as a nurse for Delaware Community School Corporation in Indiana and as an OB-GYN nurse in Ohio, Colorado, and Indiana. In addition, she was a foster care parent in Columbus, Ohio and taught childbirth education classes, including Lamaze, in Columbus, OH and Muncie, IN.

She enjoyed sewing, was an avid quilter and had memberships which included past president of the Muncie Quilter's Guild and current Treasurer of the Evening Muncie Quilter's Guild. Rochelle made numerous quilts for the military and also for Riley Children's Hospital, as well as family and friends.

Survivors include her loving husband of 48 years, Ronald Burton of Muncie; children, Judson (Jan) Burton of Valparaiso, IN, Shannon Morgan of Anderson, IN, Leslie (Jim) Preddy of Greenwood, IN, and Tyler (Laura) Burotn of Granger, IN; grandchildren, Clayton, Trevor, Cheyenne, Adrianna, Maguire, Paige, and Corrigan; father, Ralph Roche of Grafton, OH; sister, Dianna Lane of Medina, OH; brother, Randall Roche of Cleveland, OH, and David Roche; and dear beloved friend, Susie (Gary) Barteau of Muncie, IN.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Florence Roche, and a brother, Terry Roche.

Friends may call on Monday, December 10, 2012 from 1-3 p.m. at the Garden View Funeral Home, 10501 N. Indiana S.R. 3, Muncie. Funeral services will follow immediately at 3 p.m. at the funeral home with Chaplain Julia Haymyer officiating. Private burial will take place at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to IU Foundation--IU Simon Cancer Center. Envelopes will be proved at the funeral home.
