OBITUARY

In the death of Mrs. Nancy Elizabeth Cave at Lone Jack Saturday this county mourns the loss of another woman who was widely known and universally loved since coming here over 70 years ago.
The following obituary and biography of this splendid woman was furnished the Journal by the family and it shows the numerous connections of the lady and its a splendid historical recital.
Nancy Elizabeth Spainhour was born in North Carolina, September 2, 1834. She was a member of a family of 5 children, her father's name being Elijah Spainhour, her mother's name was Rebecc Schawb. The were married in 1833 and came to Missouri April 28, 1840. She was married to William Cave November 1851. Mr. Cave was killed in the Civil War, November 21, 1861. To this union three children were born, Henry, Frank and Mollie, who survive her. She became a Christian about 33 years ago and lived a devout Christian life ever since.
She departed this life, November 15, 1919, at 9:30 o'clock and was 85 years, 2 months and 13 days old. She leaves to mourn her, one daughter and two sons and 8 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren and also one sister.
John Spainhour lived in North Carolina and was married to Elizabeth Stultz. They had two children, Elijah and Rebecca. Rebecca was married to Daniel Spainhour and they lived and dien in Gentry County. Elijah Spainhour was born in North Carolina in 1803 and was married to Rebecca Schaub, she being two years older then he, in 1833 and came to Missouri in April 23, 1840. They had five children namely, Nancy was born Sept 2, 1834 and was married to Wm. Cave, November 6, 1851. He was killed in the Civil War November 21, 1861.
William was born, March 22, 1836, and was married to Betsy Perry, March 22, 1860.
Amanda was born, December 20, 1837 and was married to Henry Snow September 1855. Frank was born April 1, 1840 and was killen in the Civil War, January 8, 1864 at Springfield, MO. Jane was born, November 23, 1844 and was married to David Faulkenberry, November 6, 1859. Jacob Schaub was Rebecca Schaub's brother, he had three children, William Schaub, Martha Keiger and Mary Vest. Mary had one daughter, Sallie.
John Corn and Martin Corn were brothers. Martin Corn was the father of George Corn. John Corn was married to Leta Bridges, a sister of Betsy Spainhour's mother. He was the father of five children, Benjamin, Henry, Marion, Thomas and Martha. Martha married to Nathan Hunt. Nathan Hunt came from North Carolina after he was married to Polly --ost. He was the father of the following, Nathan, Noah, Benjamin, William Jasper and Enoch. Nathan was married to Martha Corn. 11-15-19
