KENNEDY, D. RAY

Died 1:45 a.m. Monday, March 27, 1995, at Riverside Medical Center, Franklinton. He was 72, a native and resident of the State Line community, Washington Parish. He was a cattleman and longtime deputy sheriff with the Washington Parish Sheriff's Office. Visiting at Crain Funeral Home, Franklinton, 8 a.m. until religious services in the chapel at 2 p.m. Tuesday, conducted by Elder Billy Powell, Elder James Broome, Elder Clyde Cooper and Elder Glynn Erwin. Interment in the Kennedy Family Cemetery near State Line. Survived by wife, Vera Crain Kennedy, State Line; a daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Donald Paxton, Baton Rouge; two sons and daughters-in-law, Billy W. and Janice Kennedy , Franklinton, and Charles E. and Judy Kennedy , State Line; five grandchildren, Dana P. Calbert and Chad Ray Kennedy , both of Baton Rouge, Gwendolyn Magee and Matt Kennedy , both of Franklinton, and Jared Kennedy , State Line; and two great-grandchildren, Patrick Magee and Zachary Kennedy . Preceded in death by parents, J.W. "Will" and Eulalia Tullos Kennedy ; and a brother, J.W. "Dub" Kennedy . He was a member of Forest Haven Missionary Baptist Church and Pine Masonic Lodge No. 264 F&AM.
