Lena Belle (Knapp) Stoner, was born on 17 Apr 1883 on a farm in Adams Township, Hillsdale Co, Michigan, to Charles & Ida (Jones) Knapp. She graduated from North Adams Schools and Ypsilanti State Normal College (now Eastern Michigan University) with a teaching degree. She taught elementary school in the Adrian, MI, until her marriage to Dr Wilfred M. Stoner on 4 Nov 1908, in North Adams, Hillsdale Co, MI. Lena Stoner and her husband were members of the First Baptist Church of Adrian, where she was active in various departments. She was a member of the Lucy Wolcott Barnum Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Adrian Woman’s Club of which she was past president, the Adrian Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star of which she was past worthy matron, and the Monday Evening Literary Club. Lena was always interested in drama, and was a member of the Adrian Drama Club. Lena Belle (Knapp) Stoner passed away on 24 Feb 1962 in Adrian. Her only survivor was her nephew Ronald Stoner, of Ontario, Canada.
