Floyd James, Jr., age 65, passed away March 31, 1987 after a long illness. Born Oct. 25, 1921 in the Banner community to Floyd and Mabel Radcliff. James married Maxine Barrett on March 14, 1943, and together became lifetime residents of the Banner community. James was an Army Air Corps veteran of WWII, having served on the island of Guam, and returned to the family farm where he spent his remaining years. Mr. Radcliff was a devoted husband and father, who passed his love of farming and dair ying on to his children and grandchildren. He was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church. James served many years on the Banner School Board, where he helped with the planning of a new school building in order to maintain the rural heritage for t he children of the Banner community. He also served many years on the board of the Banner Co-Op Elevator Assn. and was one of the original members of the Rural Water Assn. and the Canadian County Mineral Board. Mr. Radcliff is survived by his loving wife , Maxine of the home; his son and daughter-in-law, David and Toni Radcliff of El Reno; his daughter and son-in-law, Diana and Tom Scott of Thomas, Ok.; 4 grandsons, Shawn and L.T. Scott, and Timothy and Chris Radcliff; 1 granddaughter, Rebecca Radcliff; his sister and brother-in-law, Ruth and Rayford Johnson of El Reno. He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Mabel. Services will be 2pm Friday, April 3, 1987, in the Wesley United Methodist Church, El Reno. Burial will be in the El Reno Cemete ry under the direction of the Wilson Funeral Home.
