He was born in Lee Township.

Paul M. Gillogly, 98, formerly of Columbus, passed away Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012 at The Inn at Fairfield Village in Lancaster. He was born Dec. 16, 1913 in Albany, Ohio, the son of the late Granville S. Gillogly and Clara Ogden Gillogly Wakefield and was a 1932 graduate of Albany High School. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 73 years, Kathryn; his twin sister, Pauline M. Harwood; and brother, Wallace A. Gillogly.

He is survived by his children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

During WWII he served in the European Theater in the U. S. Army Air Corps. He retired after more than 33 years of service as a production engineer at DCASO in
Columbus. He was a member of Parkview United Methodist Church in Columbus.

Paul enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling, playing bridge and euchre, bowling, golf, working jigsaw puzzles and playing chair volleyball. He was well known for his vegetable gardens and his beautiful flower beds.

A service will take place on Thursday at 10:30AM at the FRANK E. SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 405 N Columbus St. Lancaster, officiated by Rev. Dr. Richard Riedel. At 1PM Thursday, the Pastor Jim Lambert and The Athens Military Burial Detail will have a graveside service at Alexander Cemetery, 4181 Hebbardsville Road, Athens, OH, 45701.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Octa Gillogly Scholarship Fund in care of the Albany Alumni Association, P.O. Box 325, Albany, Ohio 45710.
