Velna Rosamond Ormiston

Funeral services for Velna Rosamond Ormiston, 77, 509 Pecan, were held Tuesday, March 22, in the First United Methodist Church of Dumas.

Officiating was the Rev. Wayne Norrell, deacon of the Christ the King Catholic Church of Sunray. He was assisted by the Rev. Richard Edwards, pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Dumas.

Graveside services were held Tuesday, March 22, in Kismet Cemetery.

Mrs. Ormiston died Saturday, March 19, in Memorial Hospital of Dumas.

Born Sept. 9, 1916, in Mulvane, Kan., she had been a Dumas and Moore County resident since 1954. She was a homemaker and member of the First United Methodist Church of Dumas.

Mrs. Ormiston married Alvin L. Ormiston on March 16, 1937, in Liberal, Kan. She was preceded in death by her husband on Aug. 19, 1989.

A member of the Moore County Home Demonstration Club, she was a former active 4-H and Girl Scout leader.

The family has requested that memorials be made to Meals on Wheels or a favorite charity.

Survivors include one son, . . . ; two daughters, Gwen Bonner of Dumas and . . . ; six grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.

Morrison Funeral Directors of Dumas was in charge of funeral arrangements.
