OLATHE, Colo. - Cecil Alvin Clayton, 72, of Olathe, Colo., died Friday, June 9, 1995, at his home. Graveside services are set for 11 a.m. Monday at Grand View Cemetery in Montrose, Colo., with the Rev. Mark Hamstein officiating.
Arrangements are being handled by Crippin Funeral Home of Colorado.

Mr. Clayton was born April 26, 1923, in Cameron, N.M., to Cecil and Beulah Howard Clayton. He was raised and educated in the state. He married Florence Trapp March 4, 1944, in Portales, and the couple lived in New Mexico before moving to Colorado. He had been a building contractor for both residences and commercial.

He was a member of Church of Christ and the BPOE in Carlsbad, and had served the U.S. Army during World War II. He loved to fish and hunt, and got his elk 26 years in a row.

He is survived by his wife, of Olathe; mother, Beulah Clayton of Clovis; sons, Richard D. Clayton of Montrose and Roger W. Clayton of Carlsbad; daughters, Jeanie Boyd of Hereford, Texas, Carolie Ancell of Montrose, and Katie McCullough of Olathe; brother, Norman Clayton of El Paso, Ill.; sisters Avis Pulliam of Springdale, Ark., Susie Hatley of Clovis and Anita Simmons of Springdale, Ark.; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
