Kismet- Lena Lingo Monahan, 98, died Sunday, Oct. 9, 1988 at Flower Nursing Home, Flower.

She was born Lena Drake on December 2, 1889 at Guthrie, Oklahoma. She married Edward Lingo in 1911 at Mullinville. He died on May 23, 1950

She married William Monahan on March 18, 1954 at Tucumcari, N.M. He died April 1, 1978

She was a homemaker and a resident of Kismet. In 1945, she moved to Colorado and Arkansas and returned to Kismet in 1967. She was a member of the Church Of God of Canon City, Colorado.

Survivors are her daughter, Lena Ball, Plains; grandchildren Duane Ball, Plains, Donna Walker, Kismet, and Darryl Ball, Garden City; nine great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Kismet United Methodist Church by Charles Brisendine and Dennis Baxter. Burial will be at Kismet Cemetery.

Friends may call 9 a.m.- 10 p.m. Tuesday at Fidler-Orme Mortuary, Meade.

Memorials may go to the Kismet Methodist Church or the Fowler Nursing Home.
