"MORRIS - Mrs. Carrie Lydia Hammond of Morris died April 4 at her home after an illness of two weeks. She was born September 11, 1870, at Morris, daughter of John and Angelia (Taylor) Daniels. She is the widow of Aaron Hammond, who died February, 1927. She had resided in this village for her entire life. She attended the Morris Academy and later taught schools in this township. She was the oldest living member of the Morris Baptist Church, and was a deaconess of that church for several years She was also a member of the Eastern Star and was a chaplain of that order for many years. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Frank Benedict of this village; a grandson, Frederic H., of Palo Alto, Calif., and two great-grandchildren, Robert Francis and Marget Jean, also of Palo Alto ...
