Rites for Evert M. Tucker Sunday

Evert Martin Tucker was born April 6, 1891 at Cantleburg [sic. Cannelburg], Indiana to John and Lena Tucker. On June 26, 1913 he married Anna Baxter of Sullivan, Indiana. Born to this union was one son, Evert, Jr.

They came to Guymon in 1927, where they operated the White House Cafe until 1935. From Guymon, they moved to Los Angeles, California, where they resided until March 1, 1950, at which time they went to visit their son in Waldron, Arkansas. While there, on Easter Sunday, he was baptized and became a member of the Methodist Church. He had to be carried in because he was paralized. On their return trip to California, they stopped in Guymon to rest and visit old friends, who urged them to remain in Guymon. After two and one-half months, Mr. Tucker took a turn for the worse and passed away July 6 at 3:15 a.m. at their home on North Beaver.

He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife, Mrs. Anna Tucker; one son, Evan J. Tucker and two grandchildren, Patricia Ann and Connie Jean; two brothers, Branson of Linton, Indiana and Harry of Terre Haute, Indiana; and a sister, Mrs. Celesta Kramer of Fort Wayne, Indiana and several nieces and nephews.
