Son of Raliegh Walton Glisson and Amanda Emaline Comer.


Leffie Lovelace "L.L." Glisson, 75, of Bardin, died Friday, September 10, 2004 at Putnam Community Medical Center following an extended illness.

He was a native and lifelong resident of Bardin. He retired from Putnam County in 1993 after 26 years of service in road maintenance. Before going to work for the county he had worked as a logger. In his latter years he had worked at Bud's Store in Bardin. He was a member of Bethany Baptist Church in Bardin.

He enjoyed meeting and talking to people, being with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren. He also enjoyed bluegrass and gospel music and fishing. He was a descendant of a pioneer Putnam County family, the Glisson family that came to Putnam County in 1860.


He was preceded in death by his parents: Raleigh and Amanda Glisson.

Surviving are his wife of 47 years: Shirley Green Glisson of Bardin; three sons and two daughters-in-law: Tony Glisson of Bardin; Timothy and Tricia Glisson of Bardin and Terry and Lil' Bit of Bannerville; one daughter and son-in-law: Wanda and Tillman J. Richie of Bunnell; one sister: Madeline Ellis of Palatka; one nephew: Abe Ellis of Palatka; and 10 grandchildren: Chet Glisson, Donald Curran III, Josh Glisson, Justin Glisson, Destinie Hope Glisson, Samantha Klemons, Pud Klemons, Joshua Klemons, Cecelia Connell and Garrett Conell.
